Established under the esteemed Maharaja Education Trust (MET), Mysuru, founded in 2005, the Maharaja Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences and Hospital stands as a center of excellence in Ayurvedic education, research, and healthcare. Nestled amidst the serene and lush green surroundings of Belawadi, Srirangapatna Taluk, Mandya District, the institute offers an ideal environment for learning, healing, and research. The college is designed to accommodate 60 undergraduate students annually and is supported by a 60-bed Ayurvedic teaching hospital equipped to provide authentic and comprehensive Ayurvedic care. The hospital caters primarily to the healthcare needs of the rural population in nearby villages, while also attracting national and international patients seeking holistic and traditional healing. The institution’s academic council, comprising experienced heads of departments, ensures the highest standards in education, clinical training, and research through regular interdepartmental and research review meetings.

The institution is led by Dr. N. V. Krishnamurthy, a distinguished Ayurvedic physician, researcher, and educator, who serves as the PRINCIPAL. A Gold Medalist in both B.A.M.S. and M.D. (Kayachikitsa) from the University of Mysore and a Ph.D. holder from SVYASA University, Dr. Krishnamurthy has significantly contributed to the advancement of Ayurveda and Yoga. His illustrious career includes leadership roles as Professor and HOD in Panchakarma and Koumarabritya, extensive research on Ayurveda-based cancer and diabetes management, and international recognition including the Aryabhata Award (AAPNA, Los Angeles) and the Rotary Vijay Vocational Award.
